Pearce Piano Studios offers private piano lessons to students of all ages including children aged 5+, teenagers, young adults, and adult learners throughout the greater Lexington, Kentucky (KY) area. Private piano lessons are available in 30 or 45-minute blocks on a weekly basis. Lessons are delivered twice weekly in Lexington, KY and at students’ homes upon request.

Piano lessons strongly emphasizes both classical and formal background, plus additional music such as modern & popular songs, church music, as well as Jazz. Music Theory focuses on teaching proper technique, finger exercises, musical terminology, scales, chords, and training students to read chord charts. Students' piano recitals are held during the Christmas season and at the end of the school year during May.

Children

We focus on building a foundation for children by teaching them basic theory principles.They will gain a joy for music by learning fun and familiar pieces.

Teenagers

Learning piano can be a great challenge for teenagers. Our teenage students learn advanced theory principles via a blend of classical and contemporary music.

Young Adults

Young adults students will be taught music and theory. They will learn a blend of classical and modern piano music along with both basic and advanced theory.

Adults

It's never too late to learn piano. Whether you are just starting out or have a solid foundation, we help adult learners improve their music education at every stage.

Piano Lessons by Susan Pearce

Susan Pearce, a Professional Accompanist for 30+ years and Piano Teacher for 25+ years, is a longtime resident of Lexington, KY. She teaches piano students of all ages and skill levels to both learn and master a new instrument. By creating personalized lesson plans based upon each student’s strengths and goals, Susan Pearce has helped hundreds of piano students to confidently perform at recitals and play complex musical pieces.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, IL. She is a Member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT) and National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC).

Piano Teacher & Accompanist

Susan has taught piano to all four of my children for many years. She has installed a love of music in our home with all of our children playing the piano at different levels. My children always look forward to Susan visiting for the latest lesson. She is a pleasure to welcome into our home.

It has been wonderful experience having music in our house during Christmas and to watch all of the children interact with each other and help each other with their piano pieces. We have been blessed to have found such a genuine, gifted piano teacher for our children.

Susan Pearce is a wonderful piano teacher. She certainly has a gift of bringing out the best in each child. Both of my daughters have learned to enjoy music and play not only classical music but also songs they love from the latest Disney movies, Top 40 singles, as well as books.

Susan teaches piano to the individual student, recognizes each child's strengths and weaknesses and does a great job at creating unique lesson plans. I'm grateful for all the attention she has given my daughters.

They related to her immediately. Knowing she has several sons of her own helped Susan relate to their activities, strengths and love of music.

They have played everything from Bach Preludes to Stars Wars music and patriotic songs at school. Not only have they played for their own enjoyment, but they also excel in their music studies at school and play for school and church programs. Susan is a lovely and gifted piano teacher.
